A SÈVRES PORCELAIN TRIAL OR SAMPLE PLATE CIRCA 1881 Painted with assorted trial colour patches and other motifs and devices, printed with green potting code S. 81 for 1881, the mark cancelled 24.5cm diameter Please note that the mark has been cancelled. This could mean that the plate was sold in the white to an independent firm of French decorators or, as the plate was destined to be sold out of the factory for independent decoration, perhaps it deemed suitable to be a trial plate within the Sèvres factory Condition Report Disclaimer
