Bifacial openwork pendant decorated with black and white enamel, featuring a central cross with fleur-de-lys terminals, the border decorated with alternating lozenges and annulets; some re-enamelling. See Muller, P.E., Jewels in Spain, and Kugel, J., Joyaux Renaissance, Une Splendeur Retrouvée, for similar examples; see also an emerald pendant in the Victoria & Albert Museum, London, that bears the cross of the same order, accession no. M.308-1910. 18.33 grams, 56 mm (2 1/4 in.). Acquired on the European art market.
