20th century A.D. A small rug made from an impala skin. 522 grams, 92.5 cm (34 5/8 in.). [No Reserve] From Rorke's Drift, Kwazulu Natal, South Africa, circa 2000. Ian Wilkinson collection, Nottinghamshire, UK, formed since 1985. Impala is one of the most abundant and familiar antelopes in Africa, and the name 'impala' comes from the Zulu word 'imPala', which means gazelle or antelope.
