A portfolio of four miniature etchings by Contemporary Arab artists, Hachmi Azza, Ghyas Akhras and Saher Yusef and Muhammad El Rawas, Published to commemorate an exhibition at Graffiti Gallery, 30 James Street, London June 15th-July 31st 1982 Watercolour and ink on paper 25 x 20.5 (4) Ghayas Akhras (Syrian, B. 1937) studied in Cairo, Madrid, Rome and Paris and was the former Head of the Printmaking Department at the Damascus School of Fine Arts. He now lives and works in France. Mohammad El-Rawas (Lebanese, B. 1951) studied in Beirut and London and taught printmaking at the Institute of Fine Art Lebanon University from 1982 and taught at the Department of Architecture and Design at the American University of Beirut from 1992 until 2004, where he founded the etching, engraving, and silkscreen studios. The work of Mohammad El Rawas has been shown at numerous exhibitions and biennales, both in Lebanon and internationally, and has been collected by prestigious institutions, including, Sursock Museum, Beirut, Lebanon; National Museum of Modern Art, Baghdad, Iraq; British Museum, London, UK; Trondheim Kunstmuseum, Norway; Sharjah Museum of Contemporary Arab Art, UAE and Darat al-Funun Amman, Jordan Suha Sharif Yousif (Iraqi, 1955-2009) Hachmi Azza (Morrocan/Belgian B. 1950) From 1965 to 1969 studied at L'Ecole de Beaux Arts Tetouan Morocco, from 1969-72 at Academie Royale des Beaux Art and from 1972-76 at L'Ecole Nationale Superieure d'Architecture et d'Art Visuel, both in Brussels. His first show was at Tetouan in 1967 and since then he has exhibited in Tangier Brussels, Belgrade Munich, Solinger Dusseldorf, Koln Offenbach Amsterdam and Tunis as well as participating in group exhibitions in Yugoslavia, Norway, Switzerland, Belgium, Iraq, Tunisia, Germany, Poland, the UK and USA. Since 1972 he has been awarded seven prizes in international competitions in Europe and the USA.
