Printed in a restrained black-and-white palette, the work demonstrates the technical precision and emerging expressionist sensibility that would later characterize Yousif’s mature graphic style. The limited edition of only eight impressions underscores the rarity of early prints from this period of Iraqi modernism, preceding her 1975 etching The Rebel Slave now held in the Barjeel Art Foundation (Sharjah, UAE). The present example offers valuable insight into Yousif’s formative artistic development within the Iraqi printmaking movement of the early 1970s.
