Circa 3000 B.C. Domed seal with projecting collars, accompanied by an old scholarly note, typed and signed by W.G. Lambert, late Professor of Assyriology, University of Birmingham, 1970-1993, which states: 'Stamp seal of white stone, 37 x 41 x 15 mm., a collared hemi-spheroid, pierced horizontally. Design: a circle of water creatures around a central one. Mesopotamia, c. 3000 B.C. Design corroded.' 26.9 grams, 42 mm (1 5/8 in.). [No Reserve] From a London collection in the 1990s. Accompanied by a copy of a scholarly slip typed and signed by Professor Wilfrid George Lambert. Accompanied by a previous dealer's sales ticket.
