An illustration to a Ragamala series : Desakh raga, Bundi, Rajasthan, North India, 18th century, Opaque pigments on paper, three acrobats in a yard, a female climbing a pole, an acrobat lifting a weight, another in an athletic posture, a waterlily pond in the foreground, lush vegetation and trees inhabited by monkeys and cranes in the background, bordered in grey ruled in dark blue, wider red margins, foliated to reverse above 6ll. of red and black devanagari script, mounted, 28.7 x 21cm. Provenance: Property from the private collection of John Acton (1932-2017) acquired in India in the 1960s
