A large rectangular composite palampore fragment, Coromandel coast, Southeast India, circa 1725, Hand drawn, mordant- and resist dyed cotton, the larger with elegant leaved twigs inhabited by birds and flowers, backed with linen with faded handwritten inscription, now illegible ; together with four smaller fragments, likely borders, bold deep red blooms within leaved quatrefoils amidst floral scrollwork, losses and five minute fragments Larger 281.5 x 42.5cm., larger border fragment 62 x 31cm.
