The Works of Emile Zola (12 vols) ******Philadelphia: George Barrie, 1900 Zola's Works, 12 vols., 8vo, full red morocco with gilt-ruled covers, deckled edges, gilt tops, frontispieces, etched illustrations throughout by Charles Giroux after paintings by Auguste François Gorguet, some of them hand-colored, number 332 of 1,000 copies on Japan vellum. Stated on the page after the title page, "This edition of the Rougon-Macquart [novels] is printed from the textual plates made by the Lutetian Society of London." The page before the limitation page states, "The Rougon-Macquart edition of Emil [sic] Zola is limited to one thousand sets made to order for advance subscribers only. This copy is number three hundred and thirty two, and has been water-colored and bound expressly for W.L.
