A rectangular lacquered papier-mâché mirror case, Qajar Iran, late19th/early 20th century, The loose cover's front with a portrait of Muhammad Shah enthroned, the reverse with a Yusuf being dragged out of the well, the case's reverse with an enthroned ruler and consort entertained by musicians and a dancer, flanked by attendants, one haloed, the scenes framed with inscriptions in nasta'liq script within lobed cartouches interspersed with quatrefoils between two thin bands of simplified leaves and flowers, 40 x 27cm.
