Y A Japanese lacquered ivory and tortoiseshell inset table cabinet Meiji period of rectangular form, set with two doors above two drawers, the doors opening to reveal two further long drawers above eight small square drawers, all inset with shaped ivory panels decorated in gold and coloured lacquer with birds, plants and insects, the sides, top and back with similar decoration in lacquered ivory, all with mother of pearl highlights on grounds of gilt wave pattern and scrolls, the base with three further small drawers above the apron supported on incurved legs, the curved ends of the top mounted in tortoiseshell and with silvered metal mounts overall 39cm high, 30cm wide
