YAO SHAOHUA (1942 - ) Tigers ink and colour on paper handscroll inscribed, signed and with three seals 30.5cm x 904cm The artist was born in Beijing to a family with a strong artistic tradition, he studied under Hu Shuang'an, a distinguished disciple of the master Zhang Daqian, and is a third-generation successor of the Dafeng Hall tradition. He also studied under renowned painters Wang Jinglu and He Haixia.
