ATTRIBUTED TO WANG CHENGPEI (1725 - 1805) Cranes and Lotus ink and colour on silk inscribed "In the mid-autumn of the Wuyin year, painted in imitation of the colouring method of Master Qian Xuan (Qian Shunju) at the Shouzhuo Studio, by Wang Chengpei of Shizhai" and with one seal, framed 162cm x 61cm, 181cm x 80cm overall PROVENANCE The Curios Furniture & Miscellaneous Utensils & Hardware Merchants & Employees Association, Hong Kong & Kowloon, Certificate of Identity no.55541. Customs stamp dated 20 Sept 1978. Accompanied by a description of the painting from The Decorator's Centre, Hong Kong "In Spring of Ching Dynasty (Tao-Kuang period 1821-1850) the painter Wong Shing Pui copied this painting from the famous painter Ching Shin Kur of Shung Dynasty A.D. 900 at his study room" The Estate of the Late Tony and Christina Nicholas, Melbourne
