A blue and white spittoon, China for the export market, 18th century, Possibly Kangxi period (1662-1722) and for the Indian market, on short foot, the shallow rounded body rising to a wide concave rim with straight lip, the body and rim exteriors' painted decoration consisting of repeating lobed medallions, hanging and rising half lobed medallions filled with a single floral spray amidst scrolling tendrils, the rim's inside with dense vegetal decoration peppered with larger floral blooms, on white ground, the base with part older label, 27cm. diam.
