A filigree and open work mounted belt buckle, Possibly Armenia, Ottoman provinces, late 19th century, On silver plate base, worked as a waisted mandorla filled in with filigree, the raised floral centre piece resting on curling leaves, with hanging elements, spurious tughra punched to reverse, Armenian inscription within rectangular cartouche below, linked to seventeen rectangular tinted white metal panels, each engraved with scrolling leaves and applied with a central stylised bloom, The buckle 11cm. across, the belt 85cm. long
