An illuminated quatrain, Kashmir, north India, late 18th/early 19th century, Black ink and gold on paper, 4ll. of nasta'liq script within gold clouds, each interspersed with a line of gold floral sprays, the elegant head board composed of deep lapis lazzuli blue strapworks forming interlocking lobed serrated palmettes against a profuse floral field under a lobed dome, all double ruled in blue, narrow gold margins ruled in red and blue, framed and glazed 74 x 39.5cm. framed Provenance: Private London collection
