A large illuminated Safavid Qur’an juz (IV), Persia, early 16th century Arabic manuscript on paper, 39 leaves, plus 2 fly-leaves, 5 ll. to the page written in black muhaqqaq script, verses separated by gold illuminated roundels with blue dots, within black gold and blue rules, khams and 'ashr marked by gold and polychrome illuminated marginal roundels, in brown stamped leather binding with flap, cream paper doublures, Folio 35.2 x 26.4cm.
