A detached illustrated folio from a manuscript, Possibly a 16th century copy of the Book of Curiosities of the Sciences and Marvels for the Eyes (Kitāb Gharāʾib al-funūn wa-mulaḥ al-ʿuyūn), black and red ink and opaque pigments on tre lune watermarked paper, showing two headed beings and a harpy, mounted Provenance : Formerly in the collection of Dr. Marietta Lutze (1919-2019) and Dr. Arthur M. Sackler (1913-1987), by repute, gifted to the current owner within the past fifty to seventy years.
