An extremely small miniature Qur’an, Qajar Iran, circa 1860, Unsigned and undated, 319ff., 2fl., 13ll. of ghubari script to the page, black and red ink on gold-illuminated ground throughout, contemporary lacquer binding, the cover's inner with a floral spray, owner's seal impression in black ink to penultimate flyleaf dated 1300AH/1882AD Folio 3.8 x 3.2cm. Written in ghubari script, this miniature Qur’an is a testament to the skill of its calligrapher. The minuteness of the script and the size of the Qur’an itself, small than most Qajar miniature qur'ans, means that it would be small enough to carry with the owner on a daily basis, usually around the neck, bringing them protection.
