◉ A CHINESE EXPORT LACQUER GAMES BOX AND HINGED COVER, QING DYNASTY, 19TH CENTURY of rectangular form with canted corners and set with a pair of bronze handles to either end, the top and sides decorated in gilt with a landscape scene enclosing figures, pavilions and pagodas, the interior fitted with two compartments with similarly decorated covers, and with three trays, all above a shallow drawer and supported on four lion paw feet, a quantity of mother-of-pearl counters, 37cm wide Provenance: Acquired from Lawrences Auctioneers, 19th October, 1999, lot 1678.
