A large Kashan moulded cobalt blue glazed pottery albarello, Central Iran, 13th century Of cylindrical form on short foot, the sloping shoulder rising to a vertical neck with everted mouth, the sides moulded with a large kufic inscription, the tall hastae knotted together on a ground of swirling circular motifs, shoulder with a band of strapwork and a further band of calligraphy, repaired breaks 35cm. high Provenance: Sotheby's London, 16 April 1985, lot 95 Christie's 6 October 2011, lot 41
