A Qur'an folio, Sultanate India, 15th century, Sura an-Nahl, part v.128 and Sura al-Isra, v.1 and part v.2, Arabic manuscript on paper, with 8ll. of elegant black muhaqqaq, the sura's heading in gold amidst scrollwork within a gold cartouche framed in gold and blue and with foliate margins, the first line beneath the bismillah in gold outlined in black, gold roundel verse markers picked in red and blue, the text panel ruled in gold and blue, blue, red and black marginal annotations, monumental illuminated medallions indicating divisions of text, mounted, framed and glazed, water stained, losses, folio 31 x 22.5cm., 52.5 x 42.7cm. framed
