Four ancient pottery vessels, circa 4th Century B.C., including an Apulian black-glazed skyphos with tapering body, 12.3cm high, one handle missing; an Apulian black glazed pottery dish on a raised ring base, 13.3cm diam, 34cm high; an pottery stemmed plate, a cross pattern, with wavy lines in each section, a wave pattern around the exterior, Genucilia type, Caere, 13.4cm diam, 6cm high, a 19th Century ink inscribed label on the underside of the foot; another stemmed dish with concentric circle decoration, 14cm diam, 5.4cm high; a pottery pilgrim flask with swollen body, neck missing, 17cm high and a necklace composed of calcite roughly cylindrical beads (6) Provenance: Acquired by Major General Octavius Douglas-Hamilton 1821-1904, thence by descent; The stemmed dish with wave patter: the 19th Century ink inscribed label stating it was found in the Villa Borghese, Rome, in March 1893.
