Dimensions: Length: 22.5 cm, Width: 22.5 cm, Height: 7.8 cm Chinese Ming Dynasty Xuande Blue and White Porcelain Bowl. The Bowl has a shallow body, slight deep, thick and bulbous body, with angled cavetto elevated the steep sides upward the flaring mouth rim, raised on a small round, with slight concave footing. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in white base color which contrast against blue color, depicted of flower bloom interspersed foliage and thrashing Lishui wavy waves. A characteristic heaped and piled effect, the under glaze greyish-blue concentrates in certain areas, bubbling through the surface of the glaze and turning a deep blue-black. This inadvertently gave texture, energy, and shading to the design.The Under base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark, enclosed within blue ring lines. Made in The Years Xuande Reign Period of The Great Ming Dynasty.
