Dimensions: Length: 42 cm, Width: 42 cm, Height: 28.8 cm Chinese Ming Dynasty Wanli Blue and White Porcelain Jar On Carved Hardwood Stand. Potted with a large cylinder vessel, globular body, thick potted, deep curvature, slight tall and gentle upward to wide straight short round opening lip, emerging three mythical beast head flanked on the lower belly, raised on flat round foot base. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in white base color which contrast against blue color, depicted of group arts were playing music with a flute and dancing to celebrate the festival on the outside terrace which was filled flower bloom foliage rock and fence. A characteristic heaped and piled effect, the under glaze greyish-blue concentrates in certain areas, bubbling through the surface of the glaze and turning a deep blue-black. This inadvertently gave texture, energy, and shading to the design.The underside unglazed, revealed the pale-creme ground revealed and dark greyish brown spotted firing marks and edge-cut foot rim.
