Dimensions: Length: 14 cm, Width: 14 cm, Height: 6.8 cm Chinese Qing Dynasty Jiaqing Black Glazed Green Colored Lotus Porcelain Bowl. The Bowl has a shallow body, slight deep, thick and bulbous body, with angled cavetto elevated the steep sides upward the flaring mouth rim, raised on a small round, with slight concave footing. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in black base color which contrast against green color, depicted of abundant lotus flowers blooms interspersed foliage and scrolling interlocking tendril. Lotus is one of the most significant flowers in the Chinese culture. It symbolizes the holy seat of Buddha. Because the flower rises from the mud and blooms in exquisite beauty it symbolizes perfection and purity of both the heart and mind.The Under base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark. Made in The Years Jiaqing Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
