Measurements: Length: 29.2 cm, Height: 24.2 cm Chinese Qing Dynasty Blue and White Porcelain Large Brush Holder On Carved Hardwood Stand. Potted in Brush Pot shape, sturdily in cylindrical straight body, thick potted, deep curvature, slight tall and gentle upward to wide flaring opening lip, raised on flat round foot base. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in white base color which contrast against blue color depicted of group merchant horseback through forest surrounded with dense tree. A characteristic heaped and piled effect, the under glaze greyish-blue concentrates in certain areas, bubbling through the surface of the glaze and turning a deep blue-black. This inadvertently gave texture, energy, and shading to the design.The underside unglazed, revealed the pale-creme ground revealed and dark greyish brown spotted firing marks and edge-cut foot rim.
