Measurements: Width: 38.8 cm, Height: 54 cm Chinese Famille Rose Pomegranate Porcelain Celestial vase. Potted in celestial shape vase, globular lower body, cylindrical neck, close mouth rim, raised on a short small round foot base slight concave. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in white base color which contrast against famille rose design color, depicted of abundant ripe pomegranate fruit tree with fresh green foliage. Pomegranate is known as the fruit of happiness for its red color and is a symbol of plentiful offspring for its many seeds. Because the pomegranate is full of juicy seeds, it symbolizes fertility in feng shui, and it is used as a feng shui fertility cure. Pomegranate also symbolizes happiness in the family, as well as good luck for one's descendants. The Daoist attribute to it the same power as the peach of immortality.The Upper-rim bears a reign mark, a six under red script characters reign mark. Made in The Years of Qianlong Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
