Dimensions: 45.2cm L x 45.2cm W x 7.8cm H Chinese Yuan Dynasty Blue and White Dragon Porcelain Plate. The dish plate has a broad wide central interior, rounded mouth lip, thick large, raised on correspondence footed ring base. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in white base colour which contrast against blue colour, depicted of five claws imperial dragon soaring amidst flames, vapours, chasing blazing pearl amidst scrolling cumulus clouds, with face toward the heavens. The backdrop depicts swirling wind and fire painted atop a beautiful white under glaze. Blue and white porcelain in Chinese it is called Qing Dynasty Hua Ci. It is the most important variety of China?s porcelain. It was originated in the Yuan Dynasty. The underside unglazed, revealed the pale-creme ground revealed and dark greyish brown spotted firing marks and edge-cut foot rim.
