拍品描述
Dimensions: 13" Diameter. A Large and Striking Chinese Green-Glazed Incised Dragon Charger, Yongzheng Six-Character Mark and of a Later PeriodBoldly potted with gently rounded sides rising to a broad everted rim, the surface covered in a rich, even apple-green glaze that pools beautifully in the carved recesses. The interior is decorated in the anhua (incised) technique with a powerful five-clawed imperial dragon striding amidst swirling clouds and flames, its sinuous body rendered with rhythmic scales, sharp claws, and energetic movement. The dragon is surrounded by further cloud scrolls and flaming wisps extending toward the cavetto, forming a dynamic, continuous composition. The carving is crisp and fluid, the lines deeply cut and enhanced by the glaze?s subtle variations in tone. The intense green color recalls the aesthetic of Qing imperial monochromes, particularly those admired during the Yongzheng and Qianlong reigns for their refinement and technical precision. The underside is covered in a smooth, white glaze and bears a neat six-character Da Qing Yongzheng Nian Zhi (Great Qing, Yongzheng Period Made) mark within double circles, applied in underglaze blue. Based on stylistic and material evaluation, the charger is of a later period emulating the celebrated imperial wares of the early Qing court.Large monochrome chargers with incised dragons evoke imperial authority and were traditionally displayed in palace halls during auspicious celebrations, symbolizing power, longevity, and heavenly mandate.
