Dimensions: 25"H x 8"W Large Chinese Wucai Porcelain Gu-Form Vase Decorated with Deer and Immortals Emblems.A tall and impressive Chinese porcelain vase of gu form, composed of a wide flaring mouth, slender waisted mid-section, broad globular center, and gently splayed foot. The entire surface is richly decorated in classic Wucai enamels over underglaze blue.The body is arranged in vertical panels encircling each register, filled with a continuous scene of deer in various poses roaming among pine trees, rockwork, lingzhi, and stylized clouds. The vibrant palette includes iron red, emerald green, yellow, aubergine, and cobalt blue. Deer are symbolic of longevity, prosperity, and official rank, and are closely associated with Shoulao, the God of Longevity.The shoulder features a band of multicolored meander key fret, while the foot and upper neck display alternating floral panels with leafy sprays and auspicious motifs. The decorative program, dense and meticulously laid out, follows traditional auspicious themes conveying blessings of long life, harmony, and abundance.The glaze is smooth and evenly applied, with bright enamels and crisp linework throughout. A visually striking vessel of substantial size and powerful presence.
