Dimensions: 16"H x 9"W (with stand) Chinese Qing Dynasty Daoguang Period Blue and White Lotus Porcelain Vase with Hardwood StandA finely potted Qing Dynasty porcelain vase from the Daoguang period, crafted in a tall reward-shaped form. The vessel features a rounded globular lower body that tapers gracefully into a straight, elongated cylindrical neck, topped with a gently flaring mouth rim. The vase stands on a short, neatly formed round foot with a slight concave base. It is presented on a carved hardwood stand. The decoration is executed in rich cobalt blue against a clean white ground. The surface is adorned with a continuous lotus scroll, showing abundant lotus blossoms interspersed with lush foliage and elegantly interlocking tendrils. The painting displays balance, symmetry, and fluid brushwork characteristic of fine Daoguang blue and white ware.In Chinese culture, the lotus holds deep symbolic meaning. Rising unstained from muddy waters, it represents purity, spiritual perfection, and the enlightened seat of the Buddha. The motif carries strong auspicious and devotional significance in imperial porcelain. The underside bears a six-character underglaze blue reign mark reading Made in the Daoguang Period of the Great Qing Dynasty. This vase reflects the refined aesthetics, careful craftsmanship, and symbolic richness of Daoguang porcelain, making it a distinguished and desirable piece for collectors.
