A Superb and Large Chinese Blue and White Porcelain Charger, Ming-Style Floral Scroll DesignA finely painted large blue and white porcelain charger, decorated in rich underglaze cobalt blue of deep sapphire tone. The interior features a central medallion of luxuriant blooming peonies, each rendered with layered petals and rhythmic brushstrokes, surrounded by elegantly flowing leafy scrolls. The vibrant cobalt pigment displays classic ?heaped-and-piled? shading, giving depth and movement to the floral composition.Encircling the central medallion is a wide band of continuous composite floral scrolls, meticulously arranged with alternating blossoms and foliage, demonstrating a harmonious balance typical of high-quality Ming-style wares. The broad rim is further adorned with a scrolling lotus-vine border, executed with even precision and rhythmic symmetry.The exterior is similarly decorated with matching peony scrolls executed in strong cobalt tones.
