Measuring 79 x 100 cm, this intricately stitched thangka centres upon vivid red-hued Vajravarahi dynamically posed atop a decorated lotus pedestal. The deity is encircled by blazing embroidered flame aureoles set against a warm golden inner field. An elaborate repeating geometric-floral border frames the sacred panel, complemented by a vertical bright-gold textile strip on the lower section. Layered multicoloured needlework sharply delineates ornate adornments, swirling cloud motifs and surrounding floral sprays. Showcasing masterful embroidery craftsmanship and authentic Tibetan iconographic conventions, the hanging retains saturated, well-preserved hues and is a distinguished acquisition for serious collections of ritual Chinese Buddhist textile thangkas.
