A CHINESE OFFICIAL CRACKLE GLAZE ARROW VASE

Modelled after ancient bronze hu vessels, this vase features a rectangular mouth, twin rectangular tubular lug handles and a gently bulbous body tapering to a stable squared foot. It is fully covered in soft creamy off-white official glaze permeated by fine interlaced crackle veins, with faint natural amber discoloration scattered across the surface. The foot rim bears a thin dark brown dressing, forming a subtle contrasting border. Restrained, symmetrical and steeped in antique archaic aesthetic, it is a highly admired monochrome ceramic sought by specialists of imperial crackle glaze wares.
