Finely cast in bronze with rich preserved gilding, this four-armed Bodhisattva sits in full lotus position upon an ornate double lotus base lined with fine bead borders. Her central hands press together in anjali mudra, one outer hand holds prayer beads and the other bears a blossoming lotus sprig. She wears an elaborate multi-foliate tiara, intricate beaded jewellery and flowing scarves etched with delicate floral patterns. Her serene downcast expression embodies boundless compassion. Meticulously detailed and harmoniously proportioned, it is a refined sacred bronze highly sought by collectors of Himalayan and Chinese Buddhist statuary.
