Cast in solid bronze and partially gilded, this seated Bodhisattva rests atop a layered lotus pedestal with sharply defined petal detailing. The deity wears an ornate multi-pointed tiara, layered beaded necklaces and flowing engraved robes with crisp linear ornamentation. One hand holds a blooming lotus sprig, the other bears a sutra scroll, while gentle downcast eyes convey serene compassion. Original gilding remains in rich patches over darkened bronze patina from centuries of worship. Balanced in sacred proportions, it is an important devotional bronze for collectors of Asian Buddhist sculpture.
