AFTER JIN CHENG: A FAN-SHAPED LANDSCAPE PAINTING China, Republic period (1912-1949). Ink, gouache and watercolor on paper, fan-shaped format. Finely painted with an expansive mountain landscape featuring rugged rock formations, pine and willow trees, distant peaks, and a tranquil river valley. Executed in the traditional literati style, the composition skillfully balances delicate ink washes with restrained polychrome accents, creating a harmonious and atmospheric landscape. Inscribed Jin Cheng, dated to a xinhai year, and bearing one artist's seal. Dimensions: Sitze of the painting 52 x 18 cm Jin Cheng (1878-1926) was one of the leading Chinese painters of the late Qing and early Republic periods. A scholar, collector, and influential advocate of traditional Chinese painting, he was a founding member of the Chinese Painting Research Society in Beijing.
