CHEN XIAOPEI (born 1945): A LANDSCAPE SCROLL, DATED 1978 China. Ink and color on paper, mounted as a hanging scroll on brocade paper, with wooden handles. Finely painted with a monumental mountain landscape featuring rugged peaks rising above blossoming trees, while a winding river with small boats and distant pavilions animates the tranquil foreground. Executed in a traditional literati manner, the composition skillfully balances atmospheric washes with finely delineated details. Signed Chen Xiaopei, inscribed "painted in Shanghai in February 1978", and bearing two artist's seals. The backside with an inscribed label.
