A FAMILLE ROSE ‘MAGU’ PORCELAIN BALUSTER VASE, REPUBLIC PERIOD China, Republic period (1912-1949). The ovoid body surmounted by a trumpet neck, flanked with ornate handles painted in café-au-lait and gilt, the body finely decorated in bright enamels with a garden scene depicting the goddess Magu carrying a flower basket, her female attendant riding a deer to her right, and a bat above, the reverse with a poem. The base bearing a Huang Yicheng Zao mark. Dimensions: Height 57.8 cm
