A MING-STYLE COPPER RED-GLAZED PORCELAIN TRIPOD INCENSE BURNER, LATE QING DYNASTY TO REPUBLIC PERIOD China, 19th-20th century. The flattened globular body raised on three short legs emerging from highly stylized zoomorphic heads, rising to a cylindrical neck with a projecting straight rim, and applied on opposite sides with two vertical, slightly undulating handles. The exterior is entirely covered in a lustrous copper-red glaze, which stops short above the legs, which are decorated with a clear bluish-white glaze. The interior and underside are left unglazed, revealing the buff-colored ceramic body beneath. Dimensions: Height 12.9 cm
