A BLUE AND WHITE SEAL PASTE BOX AND COVER, QING DYNASTY China, 1644-1912. The cylindrical body supported on a short foot, finely decorated in shades of cobalt blue to the top of the cover with a carp emerging from crashing waves, encircled by bands of brocade and geometric patterns to the sides, the recessed base with a double circle.
