AN ‘OX BLOOD’ COPPER-RED-GLAZED PORCELAIN BALUSTER VASE, QING DYNASTY China, 18th-19th century. Of baluster form, supported on a spreading foot, with gently rounded shoulders rising to a subtly waisted neck, surmounted by a slightly everted rim and a broad circular mouth. The exterior entirely covered in a lustrous dark copper-red glaze, thinning to a pale celadon tone at the rim, with intentional crackle throughout, similar to that found on the underside.
