A BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN ‘SEASONAL BLOSSOMS’ TEAPOT AND COVER, QING DYNASTY China, 19th century or earlier. Carefully modelled, the globular, subtly lobed body, raised on a spreading foot, with high, rounded shoulders, applied with a curved spout of zoomorphic character and an overarching handle, surmounted by a circular mouth, fitted with a slightly domed cover, crowned by a bud-shaped finial. The exterior finely painted in cobalt-blue tones beneath a clear, transparent glaze, depicting a series of lobed panels, each containing floral scenes of blossoming plants emerging from a large lotus flower. The foot is decorated with foliate motifs, echoed on the cover, while the handle and spout are enriched with stylized scale-like designs. Dimensions: Height 18.7 cm
