A PORCELAIN FAMILLE ROSE BALUSTER VASE, QIANLONG PERIOD China, 1736-1795. Of hexagonal section, tapering towards the foot and surmounted by a waisted neck, finely painted in polychrome enamels, gilt, and iron-red, each side with three lobed cartouches enclosing figural scenes or landscapes with birds, framed by dense gilt scrollwork. The foot lined with a floral brocade pattern below a key-fret band. Dimensions: Height 39.4 cm Literature comparison: Compare a closely related Canton enamel vase, dated to the Qianlong period, 31.2 cm tall, in the Heyuan Museum.
