A SANCAI GLAZED CUP SET WITH TRAY, TANG DYNASTY China, 618-906. Comprising ten small matching cups and a circular tray, each covered in freely splashed cream, amber, green, and aubergine glazes, pooling irregularly and stopping unevenly above the unglazed buff pottery body. The cups are each raised on a short circular foot, the tray with shallow rounded sides and a slightly everted rim. With a fitted, fabric lined, wood presentation box (2). Dimensions: Diameter 28.3 cm (tray), 5.3 cm (cups)
