A CANTON ENAMEL SNUFF BOTTLE, QIANLONG MARK & PERIOD China, (1736-1795). Of miniature size and flattened ovoid form, supported on a recessed foot, rising to a waisted neck with a flat lip. The body is finely enameled depicting a lively rural scene: one side shows a young boy pulling a black water buffalo, while the other features the animal eating grass and a seated man under a tree. The surrounding landscape includes lush greenery. The neck and foot of the bottle decorated with scrolling tendrils motifs in blue and pink bands. With a four-character reign mark to the base ‘Qianlong nianzhi’ and of the period. Dimensions: Height 50 mm. Diameter neck 10 mm and mouth 6 mm.
