Ɏ A LATE CANTON SCHOOL IVORY ‘ALTAR VASE’ SNUFF BOTTLE, c. 1900 China, late Qing Dynasty to Republic Period (1850-1949). Of globular form, raised on a tall spreading foot carved with lappet borders, rising to a short circular neck with a foliate collar, and surmounted by a domed stopper. The ivory of a fine patina with a warm creamy tone. The snuff bottle carved in the late Canton style for the European market. Stopper: Matching ivory stopper, plastic spoon Dimensions: Height 59 mm (incl. stopper), Diameter 19 mm (neck) and 7 mm (mouth) Trade Certificate: The trade certificate for the sale of this lot within the EU has been granted (permit number 24PTLX02549C).
