Ɏ AN IVORY ‘GARDEN PAVILION WITH SCHOLARS AND COURT LADIES‘ SNUFF BOTTLE, c. 1920 China, late Qing Dynasty to Republic Period (1850-1949). The rounded rectangular body, rising from a circular foot to a cylindrical neck, surmounted by a domed stopper. The exterior carved in relief with a continuous garden pavilion scene depicting scholars and court ladies amid bamboo and rockwork, framed by geometric and scrolling borders. Stopper: Matching ivory stopper, carved spoon Dimensions: Height 62 mm (incl. stopper), Diameter 15 mm (neck) and 6 mm (mouth) Trade Certificate: The trade certificate for the sale of this lot within the EU has been granted (permit number 24PTLX02501C).
