Ɏ A FIGURAL IVORY SNUFF BOTTLE OF A SCHOLAR ON RAM, c. 1920 China, late Qing Dynasty to Republic Period (1850-1949). The lacquer-coated ivory snuff bottle carved as a smiling scholar seated atop a ram, dressed in flowing robes with incised geometric patterns, holding a bundle of scrolls and a brush in both hands. The scholar’s head forming the stopper.
